1. INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE

 

1.1. Al Ansari Wallet (referred to herein as “AAW”) is a mobile wallet solution developed by Al Ansari Digital Pay (“AADP”) enabling users to store funds and make payments digitally.

1.2. AADP respects your privacy and provides this Privacy Policy (the” Policy“) to help you understand how it collects and uses the information you submit, or which is otherwise collected when you access or use AAW.

1.3. This Policy applies to information collected from individuals who use AAW for their personal, non-commercial use, as well as merchants and utility providers who use the app to accept payments. In this Policy, “YOU” & “YOUR” means an individual, customer, merchant, or utility provider who accesses or uses the Al Ansari Wallet Mobile Application.

 

2. SCOPE

2.1. In this Policy:

a) “Identification Data” means any data in a form that can identify you, whether you are an individual user or a merchant or utility provider for example this includes Name, Mobile Number, Emirates ID details, Wallet ID, Merchant details etc.

b) “Non-identifying Data” means information in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with you or any other natural or legal person for example Reference Number, device details, locations, app rating, App downloads etc.

c) “Payment Data” means any information related to you, including financial data and excluding Personal Data.

2.2. This policy governs the collection and use of information collected through or in connection with the AADP.

2.3. By accessing or using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree to the practices described in this policy, do not access or use the app.

2.4. This Policy shall be implemented by AADP to Al Ansari Wallet Mobile Application Customer.

 

3. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY AADP

3.1 Information collected when you register with AAW:

AADP collects certain Identification Data when you register with AAW. If you register to use AAW for your personal use, AAW will collect your name and Emirates ID, together with your address, place of work, email address, mobile number, etc.

3.2 Information collected through your use of AAW:
AADP will generate and record financial Identification Data relating to your AAW account, including the Wallet ID, EID details and Mobile Number.

3.3 When you execute transactions using the AAW, AADP will generate and maintain records of those transactions:
When customers perform a transaction on the AAW, data will be maintained with AADP and its service provider’s database. You can view the transaction details on AAW. Data such as User information, Transaction Reference Number, Beneficiary details, Bank Account Details will be maintained.

3.4 Device information:
AADP may collect identification data from devices where you install or access the AAW. This data may include the location of your devices, carrier information, specific geographic locations obtained via GPS, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi signals, as well as your IP address.

3.5 Non-identifying Data:
AADP may collect Non-identifying Data such as your operating system, hardware version, browser type, device settings, the name of your mobile operator or internet service provider, area code, language, time zone and information about user activities on the AAW, such as how often pages are visited and which features and promotions are the most popular amongst users.

 

4. EXPRESSED CONSENT BY CUSTOMERS

a) When registering or using AAW, you will be required to provide explicit consent for the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data. This consent will be obtained through a clear opt-in mechanism during registration. You have the right to refuse consent, and such refusal will not allow the user to register and use AAW.

b) Certain data fields marked as ‘mandatory’ during registration or app usage are essential for us to provide services, including Name, Emirates ID, and Mobile Number etc. Failure to provide the data may result in the inability to access specific features or services. Other data fields marked as ‘optional’ can be provided at your discretion and will not impact your use of the application.

c) We may collect data about you from external sources, such as financial institutions or credit bureaus, for the purposes of verifying your identity or enabling specific services.

d) You have the right to access to update your personal data stored by AADP. Further, you may contact our call center at 600506005 or email us at [email protected].

e) AADP will store the customer information (only Mobile number & Wallet ID) with third party service provider outside UAE for operational and identity purpose.

 

5. USAGE OF INFORMATION BY AADP

AADP uses the information it collects:

a) to provide the payment and associated services within the App to you;

b) to evaluate, improve and develop its services and to notify you about these changes;

c) to administer its services, including troubleshooting and testing purposes;

d) to help keep the AAW and the AADP’s systems and services safe and secure;

e) to send you marketing communications;

f) to send you transaction related communications;

g) to show you advertisements and promotions that are relevant to you and to measure the effectiveness of such services;

h) to respond to you when you contact AADP;

i) for the purposes of anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud monitoring; and

j) to enforce other legal agreements between you and the AADP.

 

6. CASES OF DISCLOSING INFORMATION

6.1. The AADP has an obligation to keep your Identification Data confidential and to make it available only:

a) to you;

b) to the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates;

c) to any other regulatory authority or financial institution that is approved to receive the data by the Central Bank;

d) if required by law, court order, judicial action, governmental department or agency or financial market or other regulatory authority to be disclosed ; or

e) to Al Etihad Credit Bureau and other parties as necessary.

6.2. Any Non-identifying Data that AADP collects is aggregated with the data of other users and may be disclosed for the purposes described in this Policy.

6.3. AADP shares your information with:

a) Other entities within the Al Ansari Financial Services “AAFS” Group to provide you with, improve, and personalise our products and services; to manage our business; develop a single customer view; for profiling and analytics

b) Third parties who help us manage our business and deliver our products and services, including IT and back office support, fraud detection, customer service center support, payment verification, data warehouse storage, Remittance Partner, Processing Partner, Bill Payment Partner & Front-end Partner

c) bank and payment providers to authorise and complete payments

d) governments agencies and law enforcement and others as permitted or required by law

e) third parties whose products or services you are purchasing through our Platforms or otherwise such as airlines (including our code share and interline partner airlines), tourism agencies, hotel, transfer and car hire companies, tour and excursion providers or to travel agents

f) we may share in aggregate, statistical form, non-personal information regarding the visitors to our Platforms, traffic patterns and Platform usage within AADP and or third party advertisers and social media and digital platforms to provide advertising

g) third party advertising and social media platforms to provide more personalised advertising promoting our products and services in accordance with your preferences

h) Potential or actual third party purchaser of our business or assets.

 

7. PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

AADP takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against accidental and unlawful loss, destruction, alteration, disclosure, access or use.

AADP has implemented and maintains appropriate technical and organisational security measures, policies and procedures designed to protect the personal information that you share with us and safeguard the privacy of such information. For example, the measures we take include:

a) placing confidentiality requirements on our staff members and service providers;

b) destroying or permanently anonymising personal information if it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected;

c) following security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your personal information to prevent unauthorised access to it.

d) usage of secure communication channels such as SSL (“secure sockets layer”) or TLS (“transport layer security”) for transmitting data that is sent to AADP. SSL and TLS are industry standard encryption protocols used to protect online transaction channels.

 

8. HOLDING OF INFORMATION BY AADP

AADP has an obligation to store your Identification Data, including transaction records, on IT Hosting Platforms that are within the territory of the UAE.

AADP has placed NDA (Non- Disclosure Agreement) measures with third-party organizations holding customer information against any accidental and unlawful loss, destruction, alteration, disclosure, access or use.

 

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY BY AADP

AADP may change this Policy at any time by giving reasonable notice to you. If you do not agree with any change made by the AADP to this Policy, your sole and exclusive remedy is to terminate your use of the AAW.

 

10. STATUS OF INFORMATION WHEN I STOP USING THE AAW

AADP has an obligation to retain your Identification Data for as long as you are a user of the AAW and for a minimum of five years after you cease to be a user or from the date of the last transaction.

 

11. VENDOR/ SERVICE PROVIDER:

12. INTERNATIONAL REMITTANCES POWERED BY AL ANSARI EXCHANGE:

13. FACE RECOGNITION & LIVENESS CHECK:

Face Data (Selfie) to confirm ID and Liveness videos and photos through TrueDepth API are part of our regulatory requirements during onboarding/registration:

a) As part of the onboarding process, we are taking a picture of the user’s face based on some gestures requested such as “Wink with your left/right eye” or “Smile”.

b) This picture is requested as part of the registration process where the user is usually asked to scan his legal documents. Once the user takes a picture of his face, we are comparing this picture to the one found in the scanned legal documents to verify that this is the same user.

c) This data is neither stored nor shared with any third parties.
